I have been using a CD called YOGA NIDRA: Concsious deep sleep.
It has a ascending breth excercise and a 61 points body relaxation. Is very relaxing! |

Album Leaf - Into the Blue Again.
Jimmy Lavelle's new Album Leaf CD album.
Very laid back. A little sombulent, a little trippy, brand new (August 2006) out of Sub Pop records. For world music with a Dead Can Dance tang, try Fritz Heede's Illuminated Manuscripts, a 2003 recording out of Magical Eye records. Good for mediation and visualization. Youc an purchase it as a DVD or CD recording. You can listen to both of these, as sampled tracks, at Amazon.com and both are recommended and are featured in this weeks programming at Echoes (NPR Radio, available by streaming audio, through selected public radio stations across the US and in Canada). |

Thank you! I'm not sure if this is what we are looking for exactly, but there is a set of CDs categorized as world music, under the label Putumayo. Began in 1993, and they have released many different types of the world's cultural music. Some of it is very good, some I don't enjoy as much. If you like cultural music (various types of African, Brazilian, Mexican, European, etc.) though, you definitely want to check this out.
http://www.putumayo.com/about.html "Putumayo World Music was established in 1993 to introduce people to the music of the world's cultures. The label grew out of the Putumayo clothing company, founded by Dan Storper in 1975 and sold in 1997. In the past ten years, Putumayo World Music has become known primarily for its upbeat and melodic compilations of great international music characterized by the company's motto: “guaranteed to make you feel good!" I own many of these CDs, and I would love to share but I have to believe that would be a copyright infringement. Samples are available on amazon.com as well as the Putumayo homepage. Some personal favorites: African Odyssey, Women of Spirit, Music from the Tea Lands. This will vary highly depending on your tastes, however. |
