carbs or net carbs?

I'm trying to watch my carb intake, but had a question. When counting them by carb intake alone I've over my self imposed threashold. When counting net carbs I am under. I do take in a fair amount of fruit and veggies to keep regular and wondered how you guys count your carbs?

Thanks.

What is a "net carb" vs a "carb"?

Total carb minus fiber content. For example if I use a low carb tortilla that shows 12 carbs but only 4 net carbs, 8 is fiber. Since fiber is indigestible I assume it doesn't count? I use an app on my phone to track food intake. I try to keep my daily carbs at or below 100 grams. I find sometimes I go over in total carb intake, but am under in net carbs due in large part to fiber in fruits and veggies. I don't know if I'm fooling myself with these numbers?

Carbs = Total Carbs

Net Carbs = Carbs - Fiber

So you're worried about a deviation of +/- 10-20g???

Worried? No, this isn't keeping me up at night, I'm being diligent. My average difference over the past two week is 29.6 grams. That's enough to warrant a simple question.

I always used net carbs, you dn't digest the fiber. But as long as you are consitent with how you are counting it, it isn't a big deal.

Why can't people just answer the question without dumb comments?

I guess the same reason you felt the need to post that ^

Because in the grand scheme of things he's worried about a total of 30g when he already knows that at least 10-15g are fiber. If he was doing the AD or keto then I might understand the need to keep meticulous count of carbs but he's already mentioned he's in the triple digit range. Thus ~60 extra cals from fruits and veggies (as he mentioned) is not something that he should worry about. He got his answer so let's just end this and move on.
