So I basically took a year off the gym due to laziness/career. I now have my life back to the balance I need to be able to lift and also be active on the forums again. I have pretty chronic lower back issues (no lumbar/couple degenerative discs) and try to keep all of my squatting and deadlifting in the higher rep ranges, which has kept me pretty healthy and also I notice lots of growth that way...
Used to post over at MMI all the time, ran several logs there which was super fun. SOOOOO good to see all the same faces over here! Last edited by exmgtoo; 07-18-2011 at 03:46 PM. |

Couple days ago.....
Close Stance Power Squats ATG: My ass literally touching my heels every rep 255 x23 - x21 - x17 ::: These are HARD!!! BB Military Press: 225 x14 - x12 - x11 Stiff Leg Deads: 315 x20 - x21 - x16 Leg Curls ~SS~ Leg Ext: Entire Machine x20 for 3 sets Calf Raises: 275 x32 - x27 - x22 ...I supersetted these with DB Laterals with 40's x14 - x11 - x9 Yesterdays workout went a little like this..... High DB Incline: 130's x9 - x8 - x6 Flat BB Press: These I like doing similar to how you would do on like a dynamic effort day with a slow controlled negative with very explosive concentric 225 x23 - x19 - x18 Super set above with Closegrip Bench: 225: x13 - x11 - x10 Reverse Grip BB Press: 155x20 for 3 sets Last Exercise was Cable Flies ~SS~ with OH DB Ext. with light weights... 10 minutes of extreme DC Style stretching afterwards to end things off.... Felt SUPER horrible today in the gym...just nauseous and everything else....still made my through it somehow...
WG Chins: BW x14 x11 --- +45 x7.....x4 DB Curls: 55x12 - 60x8 - 60x5 DB Rows: 120x12 - x11 - x11 Nautilus HS Row: 225x10 - x10 - x10 Deads: 225 x23 RP:::x13 |

Ehh...for fun really. My conditioning is pretty bad right now from such a long layoff and I want to make sure my core as a whole takes a while to strengthen before I go heavy with anything lower body due to my injuries and ailments.

So just to kind of get things out there for you all to see goal-wise....
By the end of 2011 I would like to be at all these: Bench: 500 Seated OHP: 315x10 Deadlift: 405x10 Squat: 405x10 I have always been a very strong presser for my weight and muscularity my 1 rep PR on the bench is around 435 not even really using the things necessary to keep a strong bench such as leg drive/tight upper back/lat explosion. So I feel I could MAYBE hit 500 by the end of the year throwing those things in....bah who knows, but why set pussy goals?! I will never go low reps with anything with regards to my lower back for said reasons I have listed earlier in my log. |
