Books for an intermediate lifter

I want to pick up some books on lifting and nutrition that have quality information for me to read. I am an intermediate lifter, so I don't want anything that delves too deeply into advanced topics. I just want some solid accurate info on a range of topics for me to learn about in order to become more knowledgeable on lifting and nutrition, aside from information online such as that from this site and redpoint fitness.

I have been recommended:

Brawn by Stuart McRoberts and Hardcore Bodybuilding: A Scientific Approach by Frederick Hatfield

What should I purchase?

Thanks
