Another step to destroy the middle class then. This is stupid, there is no reason why you'd want to enslave other people. If only the people behind the curtain would do zen. We have to constantly moniter our government to make sure they don't fuck us over, which they do, b/c there is no way in hell busy, working adults can scrutinize every move and protest every bill and learn every law and court case that exists.
This calls for a revolution to move back to our constitution. |

I work in industry so I will be among the hardest hit. First, they're going to take away my ability to earn a living wage, then they're going to make everthing I need to buy more expensive. Washington is going to run what's left of industry right out of America. Why would a company stay state-side to produce anything when they will be taxed like this? It will make our products unaffordable in this global market. China and India must be high-fiving each other right now. The stupidest part of this all is, while we manufacture goods relatively cleanly, we'll be handing our industry over to China on a silver platter, where they will produce the same goods but pollute the environment as much as 10 times the amount that we do to make the very same product. Makes a whole lot of sense, doesn't it? Combine this fact with what was in the video posted above, & you'll see that we have the most suicidal idiotic gov't in our history, & they seem determined to knock us back into the stone age for some reason. Maybe they should have spent a little less time spent chanting 'yes we can' and other cheesy one liners, a little more time listening to what the Great Man was saying between those catchphrases. I dont have cable, any media coverage of this today or is it still MJ week? |

SandBlaster, you're right. I give the Republicans a lot of shit, but a Republican majority in the House would have never let this fly. (Even though the "Maverick" John McCain was also in support of Cap & Trade during the elections) he is much further left than the average House Republican. Over all, the House Republicans seem to be much closer to what my idea of a Republican should be. I know I'm happy with my House Rep, Randy Forbes. Here is a very moving video clip of Chairman Price asking for a moment of silence for the millions that will lose their job because of this bill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEwCqp6vhrc |

8 republicans voted for the travesty. 8. the damn bill passed 219-212. DO the math. The fucking republicans bent us over. At least there were 44 dems smart enough to read the writing on the wall.
I don't know that this bill will make it through the Senate. It tends to be a bit more conservative, and a 219-212 vote is not exactly a strong endorsement for Cap and Trade. My prayer is that the Senate votes this thing down. |
