I dunno how you 2 came up with 1 handed pushups from that post
Anyway..Been running billstarrs 6x3 OHP with 8/6/3 inclines as assistance. Only day I can hit chest so it's why I went with the assitance stuff instead of the 1 OHP backoff set. Wondering though.. If I hit 6x3 OHP with the prescribed backoff set, can I follow it up with 2-3sets flat/lowincline DB presses to get some chest work in on the same day? I don't want to mess with the routine, it's why I picked the inclines as assistance instead of the backoff set but the incline volume is killing me at the moment so I be wondering if this will be ok. |

I do a strict, butt clenched standing OHP. I just hit 100 on it yesterday. I did a set of 3, 4, 3 on it. I just couldn't do more each set. I normally shoot for 3x5 on these larger compounds. Do I stick at 100 until it's 3x5, or do I back down to 95 and do more reps?
My warm up is 45x8, 65x5 ... then went to 100. I currently do this press once a week, I'm off SS and onto a 4 day split where some parts are hit twice. Shoulders is not really one of them. I do OHP, then barbell upright rows 4x6, and finally plate loaded seated rear delt row 4x6. |

Ex, does it make any sense to do heavy overhead holds before working sets? Maybe 50 lbs over working weight? I might try that tomorrow...

Now you know. Seems like volume usually helps me get past a sticking point. Back the weight down, op the sets and reps for a bit then go back to heavier weight w lower volume
