@cbizzle98

Did increasing your calorie intake help speed up your metabolism?
I'm 6ft1, lean with unusal belly fat, I'm currently consuming 1900cal/day and thinking of moving to 3000 cal/day.
I think there may be a problem with my thyroid.
I want to increase my calories but am scared that I may become fat then overweight.

Can you give me some advice after increasing your calories?

Best
W.H.

Think long term brother. If you truly have thyroid issues and bump your calories up for a week to try and fix the problem..then who cares if you gain two pounds of fat, if you even do. Cuz then at least your metab will be back and rockin for another blast of low cals. Take your body temp a few mornings in a row and see where you stand, not the greatest tool cuz mine runs 95 daily and I'm a furnace of fat burning now lol. But for some a temp that low would need fixin. What are your daily carbs? Do you refeed?

Thanks for the advice.
Could you point me to a good book on the subject?
I've read alot by Lyle Mcdonald, Stuart McRobert and Will Brink, but I never once heard about increasing calorie intake to speed up metabolism.
Am I supposed to increase calories for one week then drop back down after my body temperature is raised or continue with the high calories forever?
What's your bodyweight, height and calorie-intake.

My goal is to reach 220lbs after 2 years at 10% bodyfat.

I will have my blood done asap!
Carbs are at 250g/day (I'm on 3000cal/day now). What is a refeed? I've never heard this before.

refeed is just overeating for a day or so. at 3000cals per day you wont need one. =0)

wait on blood work before you do anything major.

Yeah at 250 carbs and 3k calorues there is no need for a refeed, I use weekly refeeds when carbs and cals are pretty low throughout the week. In my avatar I'm 165 at 6'3". Skinny as hell I know, but I wanted to see how lean I could get being that it wasn't long ago I was 240 over 20% body fat.
