Question Cutting Suggestions Needed

Currently, I am taking in about 3200 calories per day, 400g protein, 350g carbs. I am 26 and 159lbs currently. I am getting my entire routine set before I start my cycle and need some cutting advise. I was planning on cutting my intact to 1800 calories/day, 150g protein, 100g carbs, and doing a more high intensity workout with more emphasis on cardio and fat burning. Is this the wrong way to go?

I am working on the numbers, but I feel liek for a guy my size (5'7'') that should be enough to sustain what muscle I have or close to it, while cutting my body fat down to maybe 10-12%. any thoughts?

Check out the stickies posted in the fat loss/diet forums. Even I know dropping 1400 cals is, well, too drastic!

I would say at 5'7" and 159, I wouldn't be concerned with cutting anything. I may be way off base here, but you're not that big to begin with. What's your current body fat level? I would be trying to add some muscle to my frame. Have you logged your food intake? Are your current numbers accurate or a guess?

But yeah, a 1400 cal cut from current intake is way to drastic.

THAT is why people diet, lose muscle and then go on forums and tell everyone that you can't get stronger while dieting and how catabolic dieting is. All you need to do is dump some carbs and do some cardio.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
