Lost lumbar flexion through injury. Ideas?

Hey,

This is for those whom may have experienced similar back issues in the past or have helped those with lower back pain in the past.

Ok so I was doing some reverse hypers well over a year ago. Allowed myself to relax a little too much on the eccentric portion and I literally heard/felt a pop in my extreme lower back. Weird I thought.....Never heard a sound like that before.... However it did not hurt too much over the next few days and so when any residual pain had left I (stupidly) attempted some light deadlifts about a week later.

Doing this I literally felt a vertebrae shift in my back. Like a clunk! My back tightened up so hard it felt like steel cable had replaced the muscles and so I went had osteo and xrays on my back. Turns out L5 and S1-L1 had shifted into near risk of prolapse. Terrible pain! However through many many expensive treatments and manipulation with an osteopath I was able to realign my back and get back into some form of reasonable training instead of the horrendously boring series of seated exercises etc I had to do over the months.

However I am left with one very frustrating lingering problem. Although all pain is gone. My entire lumber region no longer has ANY flexion whatsoever. Its entirely locked even though when I stand upright my back appears entirely neutral. When I bent forwards, my back will hinge exactly where L5 is, in the middle of my back.

The most common explanation I get is to stretch my hip flexors as that is where they insert. However I Stretch them until the cows come home and zero improvement on the issue.

Ive tried it all, continual stretching, accupuncture, osteopath treatments, light squating to encourage hip flexion but it seriously appears nothing will make it budge. All professional advice I get they have zero idea. I think mainly because NONE of them train etc.

I am on the verge of considering stopping most weight training as it appears its easily aggrevated and tightened up again. Anything flexion pisses it off, anything with a lordotic arch pisses it off also....

Does anybody have any suggestions through similar personal experience?

Would an ART practitioner be useful do you think? Unfortunately its something nobody does in Australia.

I only ask this question on this forum because of the sheer frustration I am experiencing with this ongoing injury
