This was my first time going straps up in my suit and the first time in knee wraps. I think this showed on the first walkout!

405 at 165 isn't too bad. You cut depth a bit, but close. Are you going to compete soon?

Yeah I am going to do and APA meet August 19th. I realize I need to sink these squats a little more, but it was my first time in full gear so I am pretty happy with the lifts. I know once I get comfortable with bigger weights on my back the depth issue should be resolved.

Strong! Real close on depth, i mean real close. I would call it legit, maybe not a meet legit, but for all purposes it was a legit lift.

405 at 165 is a great lift. If you add 90lbs, it'll be triple your bodyweight!

Keep it up!

ur at // I wouldn't worry about going any deeper. Those will be past in a meet. I mean it's good to practice going deep, but that 405 squat would have been passed for sure

The 405 squat did look like it was at parallel. However, you can get red-lighted for other things. If you are going to do a PL meet, it helps to go over the rules and technical matters.

As an example, in the USPF, you have to walk out your squats. After the bar was unracked, he did not seem to have the bar in control (it was moving) [red light], nor were his legs locked prior to starting the squat [red light]. After the squat, the bar still did not appear to be in control [red light], the time between lockout and racking the bar was so quick that it would not give a judge time to give the 'rack' call [red light].

Just my opinion, of course.

I am going to be in the APA with a monolift come meet time. So I won't need to deal with any of the USAPL BS. I don't think I would ever compete USAPL.

Nice lift! depth looked ok to me.

I'd say you're good for 435-445 easy with the speed that bar came up.

Thanks guys! I will try to shoot a video of my raw bench session this friday. Hopefully I can back up my good geared numbers with some solid raw ones.
