It's just so hard for them to let go of their love handles, I can get them down low, but still unsucessful of complete removal. It's amazing how fast I can get fat to go back there too. I diet down, I'm able to see my abs, just a week of bulking and it's a noticable difference. (Where as a week of dieting isn't) there isn't much of a point to this thread actually, other than me ranting. Tips would be appreciated though. Honestly though I'd like to be able to gain a decent amount of mass (strength would be even better though) while still staying pool worthy. I bet IA could help me *checks bank account* next week hopefully.

I have the same problem. Even when I got down to 10%bf, I still had freakin' handles. 6-pack abs and handles, looks weird. I think some people just naturally have love handles and no matter what they do they will always be there. I figure if I beef up my upper body enough with broad shoulders, big back and chest and impressive arms, my handles will seems smaller.

Genetics will determine fat distribution to some extent, but it's mainly just a matter of dieting long enough and smart enough. Getting from 15% to 10% is a lot easier than getting from 9% to 6%.

i remeber charles poliquin talking about one of his fitnes competitors and no matter what they couldnt get rid of the love handles. He reccomended topical yohimbine (sp?) Hcl for that. I have the same problem as you, and this is one thing I am going to try this summer.

Unfortunately genetics are against me in this area also, as I have rather narrow shoulders. I don't honestly know how much gaining muscle and stretching will do to change this, but I'll keep trying!

Desp,

Here's a thought that keeps me going when I start to get discouraged by lack of progress "If this is the best I can do after all the hours in the gym, what would I look like if I stopped training?" Keeps me going. All I know is that I'm in better shape than I was 15 years ago.

are you sure they're actual "love handles" (fat deposits) and not a set of obliques that project out over the hips? check out Frank Zane (http://www.classicbodybuilders.com/bodybuilder/frankzane/frankzane5.jpg), whose really stick out compared to Lou Ferrigno, whose are more unobtrusive (http://www.ironman-israel.com/gallery/ferrigno_lou/ferrigno_lou_29.jpg).
