Hi folks. I was sent here by someone from another board. I'm a mod over at FortifiedIron. I'm a bench specialist working on a, hopefully, 700 bench by the end of this year....knock on wood. I've been lifting for over a little over 20 years....starting off as a wannabe body builder, but hated the way they've got to eat. I love food. I began to figure out about 5 or 6 years ago that I'm built more for function than I am for show...lol....and I've grown to love the sport of power lifting. I run an increasingly growing power lifting team called Gorilla Barbell out of Fresno California....you can check us out at gorillabarbell.com. I'm still learning how to build the site, so take it for what it is. It's getting a little better all the time, but I've got a lot to learn before it's where I'd like it to be.
I came straight to the intro section, so I haven't had a chance to snoop around yet, but I'll be sure to. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up anytime. Like I said, I love this sport and I really do enjoy helping newer (and older for that matter, haha) lifters improve and reach their goals. Good lifting to you all.

Thanks,
Dave :D

Welcome, Dave. Great to have another strong-ass PLer here. If you don't mind me asking, what are your squat and dead numbers? By the way, I know your brother Magilla.

I've pretty much focused most of my attention towards bench the last few years, since rupturing my bicep tendon in my right arm. I figured that since I can't pull and most meets are either all three lifts or bench only, I could save the energy to get a bigger bench. My best squat was 815 and my dead was nothing special even before the accident.

APF seniors?...Athens, Georgia right? I'm passing on them this year, but I was in Omaha last year and the worlds in here Fresno in Oct.
The APC Nationals are coming to Sacramento next year, so I'll fly to where ever the closest national qualifier will be for that. My wife and I went on a two week vacation to Acapulco earlier this year for our anniversary and I need to stash away a little of the travel money for a while to try and catch back up...lol.
And nothin' wrong with being old...it happens to the best of us. I'm still a sub-master btw, but I'll be offically masters in 2 more years. Grey hair and bone creaks are already creeping up on me  ...lol.

yeah...the apfs.....the apc nats are in athens. too many freakin' sanctions...lol.

That'd be cool. If you ever get to a meet in cali, let me know. I try to stay within a couple of hours of driving at least, but I'll hop to the occasional out of state meet once in a while.....did that Omaha meet, coached in Vegas, but we mostly stick close to home.
