Gday,
I want to do wide grip pull downs, I train at home and do not have any pully type systems.
I tried 2 bands (#3) folded over a wooden dowel suspended from the ceiling and a woodel dowel at the bottom of the bands to use as a handle to pull down.
Does this sound ok?

G'day Ex,
It seemed effective, I guess I can add bands to progress on this exercise.

I do band pull-downs frequently. I do them AFTER rowing though, so I don't need as much resistance. They are a wonderful movement an provide a lot better resistance curve than a pully does.

Gday IA,
Sounds good.
So it should work fine as a rotation from doing a weighted pull up.
Thanks, Nevile

Me too, I don't have a pulley, so all of my pulldowns are bands and they work fine.

I've started doing band pull downs to change it up also. I really like the additional tension it gives you at the bottom of the movement, as compared to a standard pulldown on a machine where its progressively easier to finish off the movement. I'd definetly tell you to keep doing them!
