Yup, while I really like a good omlet, I REALLY like the 3 minute prep it takes to make the shake and the no clean-up (I use an in cup blender).

So what I come to think after reading that is...cooking scrambled egss is basically worthless, because not only is the egg white protein damaged by heat, but the yolk protein is damaged by scrambling?

dougoefre5h-

i posted this on another thread:
"a lot of the mercola articles are old and some he updates. what you have to do is go to the bottom of the page on any given article and it shud say "return to table of contents #xxx) then click on that and at the top of that page it will say the date that the article was written. the quote you have is from an article that was written on 11/13/02 and i have read articles since where mercola has changed his opinon. point being, just make sure your reading the most up to date info because some of that is slighlty outdated and new information has been presented to change his opinion."

im not sure about his opinion on the egg white protein being damaged by heat, but i know that dr mercola has since changed his opinon that egg yolk protein is damaged by scrambling. ive read info since where he stated it shud be fine blended or scrambled.

I never would eat raw eggs untill just a few weeks ago when I started reading info about how they were a lot safer then I realized. It does make it a lot easier to consume 6 eggs raw then cooked. It makes sense that it would be more nutritional raw.

raw yolks mixed with OJ...delicious. No joke. Then I just cooked the whites up and 5 miuntes later I was done.

On raw foods so far
For the last two weeks or so I have been eating everyhign raw
This includes Eggs, Beef, Ground beef , All types of fish and chicken
The chicken concerned me -
The second time I had it I had a very minor upset stomach - besides that no problems whatsoever

Raw eggs and maybe rare beef is fine but i would never eat raw chicken. IMO you are asking for trouble.
