Was no question about it. He just worked Penn for 5 rounds.

That card was awful though lol.

Was about as bad as I expected, except I expected an exciting finish from Maia and all I got was a boring decision.

none of the fights on the card looked exciting. I did enjoy Edgars performance though.

I've always enjoyed watching bj but that seemed damn near pathetic to me.

sad that they couldnt have had a better card for the boston crowd.

the corture, toney fight was pathetic! what did toney actually think he was gonna do against corture? corture should have toyed with him for 3 rounds to make Toney look like more of doushe bag then what he already did/

Bj just had no game plan at all. The two times he tried for a takedown he got them easily, he should have been doing that the whole time. Who the F was training and cornering him for this fight?
Agreed that was in general a crap card. I'm glad UFC has a deal with soho.com to stream for free here in China, cause paying for that card would have been embarrassing.

the real pathetic thing about the Toney fight was Randy jumping around afterwards like he did something to be proud of. From the looks of Toney's ground game my niece could tap him out.

Has Penn ever been this outclassed in the ring? Edgar beat him in every facet of MMA

And what was this move called? When I first saw it I thought it was just a well timed leg kicked, but judging from his actions before the kick it looked like almost a planned leg sweep or something???

that is absolutely the worst place to take a leg kick. the pain is horrendous.

I thought the Diaz fight was ok, and the Lauzon fight was fantastic... thats not a good sign...

Penn just looked dead and clueless out there...I am not a Penn fan, but it was pretty bad, its like he lost the 'licking blood of his gloves beast' to something that is boring to watch... Edgar is a feisty one... he knew he did not want Penn on him and got out quickly.
Now Edgar has to deal with Maynard... I am sensing a change in title.

Lets look at the ufc for a moment

Edgar- boring IMO
GSP- most boring fighter in the ufc
Silva- finally got his wakeup call hopefully
Shogun- wont fight rashad until march
Lesnar- Finally using more tools

Asisde from ehavy weight and middle weight no other titles are worth watching right now

Diaz fight was good. The lauzon fight wasn't really a fight... Gabe was completely overmatched. It was a beating lol.

The edgar/maynard fight is guaranteed to go 5 rounds. Edgar has gotten better, but I just keep envisioning Maynard getting a hold of him and bullying him to the ground over and over.

True enough, but a good showing none the less, will give him a boost to work his way back.

Like you said, I think Edgar tries to dance and rely on his speed, Maynard on his power.

I can't stand fighters like Edgar. 13 pro wins...8 by decision

I usually prefer fighters who finish as well Jericho but for some reason I like Edgar. Maybe it is because he was always active... he wasn't being "elusive" he was hitting and getting out. He was taking Penn down which is a WTF moment bc I can't remember the last LW that could take penn down. And then Penn had him down... and he reverses him.

Maybe I just liked it because of the look on Penns face. He gave up after the first 3 minutes. He knew he couldn't do anything to stop him.

His full MMA skill set was on display. He kept attack he just doesn't hit hard (hes too small).

Unlike Maynard who doesn't even try to finish. He takes down and lays. The modern day Sherk. Or GSP who is just being so safe because he knows he can just keep them down with ease and it isn't worth the risk to try and finish.

Funny, when I read this I thought of the Mia fight... he went for the win 2-3 times and ended up on the bottom for it each time, but he tried, gotta respect him for it, he never got the finish but at least he tried.

I was stunned he couldn't finish that due TBH. usually maia on ground = game over

Miranda is another BJJ black belt with skills I thought, he timed those escapes perfectly...

Was it just me or did you get the underlying Mia/Wand vs. Miranda/Anderson vibes that Rogan was trying to throw out there....
