Well i decided id make a log for whatever reason
First, my info:
Age:17
height: 5'11
weight: 180 (cut 10 pounds so far)
body fat: no idea, above 12 and below 17
lifts: 150x5 for bench, 215x5 for squats, 280x4 for deads

I have been "training" since middle school, but up until recently it was just crunches and push ups. I got my first bench in July of 2008 so i have been training about 9 months now. I went from 150 to 190 and lost a little bit of fat. I seem to be weak by genetics but somehow good at adding mass (or maybe just good at eating right).

As of now i am taking a week off which will last until Sunday and I am going to start IA's 2 day a week hard gainer routine (because i am cutting and want to focus on gaining strength on pull ups and dips, two exercises which i have neglected greatly (i workout at home and have no set up for pull ups yet and just recently came up with one for doing dips). I am suspending two chains from my porch ceiling and putting a bar in them so i can do pull ups now, so we shall see where that takes me.

ive been walking for an hour or so the last few days and i've noticed that my hamstrings and calves feel really tired / sore for some reason, maybe its from gaining strength while squatting 3times a week AND cutting.

well as you see im not a big fan of updating my journal. i am posting now cause i am about to start college and i will be upping my daily protein intake by about 150 grams so ill be eating 300-350 every day. I am also now doing XX's westside variant for hardgainers which seems to agree with me perfectly, leaving me feeling like i worked just hard enough to be able to recover properly and still make good progress. i hope by the end of my first year of college ill gain at least 15 pounds of lean muscle and maybe 50 or so pounds on all my lifts = ). i think this is possible cause im almost doubling my protein intake and going to actually be getting stronger.

im also gonna take pics soon just to have some progress pics for once

Atta boy. Keeping up with an online journal is the hardest part of weightlifting.

Start posting!

i don't see a point in posting every workout i do, its not like any ones gonna learn anything from that.

Its supposed to work the other way around: you are to learn from people who post in your log.

well i made an executive decision to switch to the SPBR since i am now eating 300-400 g's of protein and 4,000 or so cals a day and taking a multi, and i feel like i can handle the volume now. Im just doing it as it is in the thread except i took one set off all the bench-type work and im going to be doing 4 sets of pullthroughs, 2 focusing on hamstrings and 2 focusing on my lower back. I got through my first 4 days and it feels great.

i do have a question though, is the SPBR supposed to be worked all 4 days in a week? because im just going tu/thr/sun, and plan to keep it that way unless theres a special reason to up the frequency.

i also tested my maxes and im now at a 165 bnehc and a 265 squat. hoping to hit atleast 200 bench and a 315 squat by spring.

alright so 3 or so weeks on spbr and so far i've gone:
rows 95-105 x6
bench 135-145 x5
dead 225-245 x5 (it dropped a lot because i used to deadlift barefoot and with straps but i lost the straps and have to wear shoes now)
I've been working on my squat form more, but i did 205 x5 pretty easy
Right now i am box squating for 2x10 on deadlift day and im not changing the weight but instead focusing on better form and depth and going back farther.

ok so i weighed myself for fun at the gym and i was 230 pounds :o
i know it doesn't mean much but i was 190 when i started the spbr in september, and i have gained fat but i haven't gone up much body composition wise.

deadlifts are shooting up for some reason, even with my shoes on i pulled a pretty easy 275 x 5

Benching has improved a lot, i benched my 1rm of august for 5 reps now and could get more

squatting not so much, its mostly been form changing while the weight is the same.

boy oh boy my log sucks. If its wasting space you guys can delete it cause i don't exactly update it a lot
