Can it do diets for someone who wants to compete in a figure show or is it more for someone who wants to just get lean?

Also does it give specifics as to what your eating or is it just like

4oz chick
3oz asparagus
Etc etc

?

Thanks.

Diet categories are:

People that don't lift weights
Lean mass/mass diet
Cutting with carbs
Recomp (can be used for mass or fat loss depending on caloric levels)
Keto

You put in the foods YOU want to eat (as long as they are on the list, it won't let you eat at McDonalds) and it tells you EXACTLY how much of each food to eat at each meal. You also get the option of specifying how many times to eat each day within reason (a 5,000 calories a day mass diet will NOT let you only eat 3 times a day as an example).

Yes, it can do specific diets and yes, it gives you amounts.

I have the ability to plan my own diet, that does not mean that I want to...
The site is great for being lazy... well worth the $$$ to me.

Pick your protein and it gives you options of what to eat with it, pick what you like and you are off.

I was actually surprised by the choices and there is the odd recipe that looks pretty good as well.

I believe there are a couple people doing figure on the site in the forums.. seems to be working well for them.

Would Redpoint allow me to gain mass while cutting off carbs 1/2 way through the day?

Awesome!

I've heard and read so much about it so far. I very much want to sign up asap, but I'm not sure if it would be a better idea to run through 5x5 for a couple more months or not. If I register, I want to get as much out of it as I can and use it to plan a diet and a routine, not just a diet.

We have a great 5x5 routine built in if you like that scheme.....

there are four westside variations, some more bodybuilding oriented routines, a 10X10 routine a 10x3 we really have something for everyone there.

What I'm afraid of is switching to another routine if the one I'm on is already working alright... or would it be a better idea to just drop my current routine and let Redpoint make a routine for me that could potentially work better?

If it's working, keep using it, don't fix something that's not broken. HOWEVER, you can use the diet portion of it which is worth the 17 bucks in itself.

Thank you guys very much.

Sorry for all the questions, I just wanted to learn a bit more about it before I go out shelling $18/month. I plan on registering either tonight or tomorrow though, looking forward to it!

Hopefully you have signed up by now favori12, but that is what I do and it is well worth it.

Yep, signed up the night I made those posts! :D

I'm getting my Redpoint diet fully on track in a couple days once I finish all of my old food and get a new non-broken food scale. I ultimately decided to change my routine though... even though my deadlifts are going up nicely and bench went up 4 lbs, my squats are still going nowhere (and haven't in months). The hardgainer routine I'm going to start on Saturday seems very promising, I've been taking 5 days off from 5x5 and looking to begin the routine on Saturday!

Can you add custom foods to the diet/menu?

No, a big point of the program is to let the user pick the foods they want to eat, but only from the provided foods which keeps the user eating the "right" foods. We do have food substitute lists for proteins, carbs, an fats, but again, they are only good foods that don't violate proper eating. Letting the user add double whoppers and fries defeats the purpose.

Hm, I definitely understand the point of not allowing foods like that, but in that case there must be a huge variety right? The reason I ask is because some unconventional things come to mind. For instance in the past I know you've stated that kids cereal can be used PWO without a problem. Things like that are what made me think about it.

Plus there's always some variances. I haven't seen the actual data base but different brands of different foods often have significantly different values.

There is a very good variety of the "right' foods. It is not a useful tool if your goal is just to eat whatever you want. If you just want to do that, use fitday.

You pick the foods for the meal, day or week, and it gives you the exact quantities to eat.
