View Full Version : Dips transfer to bench?
Anyone here find dips to transfer over to benchpress?
I mean, any hypertrophy in the pressing muscles is good for benching?

i personally didnt get any strength transfer from dips to bench
its different for everyone though
I forgot to mention that I mean dips as an assistance movement, after benching.

For some people yes, for others no. If you are the type of guy that I call a "natural" lifter, yes they work well. By a "natural" lifter, I mean a guy that as they get stronger everything they do goes up. LOTS of people are mostly "neural" lifters and they progress in lifts my increasing neural efficiency on the lifts they perform.

Yeah thats the case, ive been doing almost nothing but lower reps and training more for "neural" gains the last months. My weight has stayed the same as well, due to not increasing kcals enough.
But now I am going to start eating more and push my weight a little bit. So therefore I thought dips might be a good exercise for like a repetition effort style accessory movement.
Something I do know is that, even though I havent done the dips in ages, I can probably move atleast the same amount of weight on them as when I did them regularly.
Which must mean there is a link right?
Edit: Bah I know, I gotta start doing and stop thinking so much

IME, the average person makes faster gains on dips than on bench presses.
