Im currently joining the marines in 6-7 months, already enlisted..My ship date is july 6 but probably getting pushed back a month..W/e

I wanted to do Sheiko's routine and get stronger and maybe lose some weight towards the end..
But now one of the recruiters told me saturday not to train for power, but to do a lot of cardio, right now im 205, which is 6 lbs higher then my max to go in, I obviously wanna get well under 199 lbs.

Ive done a lot of reading on here over time, and other sites to..(mostly sites dedicated to guys lifting huge amounts of weight).

Now I dont know where to go because I need to get stronger for the tests im going to have in bootcamp. I can only do 3 of the dead-hang pull ups(any grip I choose), 60 of the crunches, and i ran 1.5 miles in 14:44.
Tommorow im signing up for a new gym and I thought I had my training narrowed down but now im not so sure..

btw
Current scores
Pull Ups : 3
Crunches : 60 (in 2 mins)
1.5 Miles : 14:44

Desired scores
Pull Ups : 15-20
Crunches : 100+
1.5 Miles : At least 10-11.

Anybody know what kind of training regime I should begin? Id ask my recruiters but none of them are really in good shape..Most of them at the office arent in that great of shape nor to strong

Edit: Also, I have a lower back pain when I do the crunches I heard it was cause I had a weak muscle back there, I dont remember which and can not find the article..Anybody know which it is

Idea: Would a Low Volume routine and then on my off days Cardio, Abs, and Bodyweight exercises, work for me? Or would that push it over the edge to overtraining
