Being ectomorphic and bulking is tuff already. Also ectomorphs tend to be insulin resistant. I am one of these. The new popular diets are High Protein, High Fat, low carb. To help with my insulin resistance I need to keep my carbs low. How do I bulk if I am going low carb? Also fat as it is the best energy source, it is not readily available to the ectomorph.

Put cals over maintenance and get @ least 1.5 g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Adjust the calories up or down depending on how you are gaining.

Why do you think you are insulin resistant?

Why do you think you are insulin resistant?

Testing through a doc. Fasted BS was 74 which is good/normal. 85g or carbs and 1 hour later BS was 92 then another hour it was 86. It is just my body is pumping out too much insulin. If I eat around 85g or carbs at breakfast I will become very tired.

However if I do the low carb I do not gain weight as easy and I am low energy low strength.

Yes, you can do it. If you are low energy/low strength on low carbs try an over maintenance keto diet for at LEAST 5 weeks. Energy should be fine after you adjust to burning fat. Trying to keep carbs at 100 grams a day keeps SOME people from burning fat well, and there are not enough carbs to fuel energy needs. You can also try just having all your carbs either in the morning, or at night/PWO.
