View Full Version : Cutting supps for an ecto
I've been very frustrated lately at my cutting phase. Basically the weight is dropping just how I'd like 1.5-2 lbs./week. The problem is that I'm losing muscle along with it. Diet is in check taking in 1.5g/lb. of protein and clean carbs/fats. Was wondering what supps you recommend that might help remedy this effect. I'm natural BTW. Thanks!
Ok let me get something straight. By supps I don't mean what fat burner or what low carb drink. I know that your a big fan of ALA, CLA, etc. Do you recommend these when cutting? If not what would you recommend? Thanks!

1. Always try and volumize the cell while cutting. Tough to do on low carbs, but creatine and tuarine can work wonders.
2. The right cardio to diet ratio is important, get this nailed down.
3. Make sure you carb-ups are done correctly, and you are maximizing glycogen replenishment, while minimizing spill over to fat cells.
4. Green tea and AlCAR are great.
5. If you can take it simple coffee works great!
6. The newer "ephedra" free products work well for some people, but nothing like ephedra.
7. UA or DNP if you REALLY want to drop it FAST.

Thanks IA for the response. I was doing DC training before my cutting and am continuing with it afterwards. Do you recommend switcing to straight setting @ a higher rep range?
Also I am not doing the low carb diet just getting in 6 whole meals a day and clean carbs with no post workout drink. My carbs do very everyday from high/med/low. Would you recommend the AN stack while cutting? This is what I have available to me:
CLA caps
ALCAR
GT caps
R-ALA
I've also been thinking of adding fish oil but not sure at what dosages ppl are taking them at. BTW I'm 5'10/185lbs./roughly 16% BF. Appreciate all the help!

Fish Oil= 2-3 grams ED (3 gels)
That's all that is needed..
although I have used upto 18-20 ED and no sides (like Diarrhea)

You mention you're an ecto, so you can probably get away with the higher carbs like you mention. However, from my own experience I'm not a big fan on carb cycling. Its hard to judge progress when your variables are all over the place. Also, the carb cycling as I'm sure you know, is supposed to keep your body from fighting back too hard, but the body doesn't seem to adjust as quickly as carb cycling would suggest. I personally do better with several low carb days and then a short re-carb. 3 grams total. you can try more if you like...See how you respond...
But I tend to beleive that too much of a good thing, ends up on the negative side.. This seems to hold true for all aspects of life...
P.S. I beleive remenber reading that High intake of EFA's makes cell walls weaken over time. That's why we need some saturated fats in our diet. In reallity we need all different types of fats(natural) but we need not to be excessive in one or the other...
