For your first time doing GMs, nice work.

Few comments. :)

First of all, there are a ton of different ways to do GMs, so let me ask you, why are you doing them? The varying ways of performing GMs can work on different weak spots, etc.

One thing that jumped out at me is that you don't look very tight during the movement. At lower weights this might not be a big issue, but as you start adding plates to the bar, you better get tight and a good way to practice doing that is getting tight regardless of the weight on the bar (from your warm-up set to a ME set).

Finally--and you did this decently well already--really focus on starting the movement by pushing your hips back so that the load is on your hammstrings and spinal erectors.

Hope this helps.

I would keep your lower back arched , flare out your knees the entire movement and stay tight like Rip said, you looked like you are just doing a bare minimum on that.

Thx fellas, I am def a little loose,I think it was hard to get used to a higher bar position.I've only been doing low bar squats on Rippetoes routines. And Im doing them as a light squat variant for a bit of extra ham emphasis.

One thing is that my back is arched hard, its just Im too fat for it to be able to see!! haha But I didnt know I was supposed to be shoving my knees out just like a squat so thx for the tips Ill keep working on em.

Something from Lord Wendler to ponder.

"I totally agree that it's risky but someone wanted an answer and I gave the truthful answer. Very few lifters that I have been around have used a true arch during good mornings. Their lower backs don't bow (like a dog taking a dump) but they are able to statically maintain their position throughout the lift.

I'm sure people will get upset about the answer and piss about me on the forums. But whatever.

The truth is people round their back on GM's and on deadlifts. There is risk and reward to all that we do; you make a good point."

They looked pretty good to me. The thing the jumped out at me was when you're near the bottom of the movement your face is pointing towards the floor instead of straight forward. Looking forward instead of down will cause you to arch your back more and keep tighter.
