That is real strength, not the shirted shit that counts for it. All the more so, he did it on crappy equipment.

He is diesel to the nth degree.

The guy is a total freak, mindblowing strength at any bodyweight.. much less as a 242er - his non-comp weight must be 260ish?

The dude with the gut who waddled in front of the cam in the first vid should have been slapped.

LOL true

but of course... he was probably walking by and was stunned by some dude inclining 605 that he didn't notice his surroundings lol

that is amazing...i can't imagine having that kind of weight on top of me like that...and he just calmly lays back and does it...didn't even look like a huge struggle...it said that the vid was found at critical bench.com...does he do their program or what?

dbcb314
01-12-2008, 03:26 PM
the dvd that he made can be bought at critical bench i do believe. his dvd is called "242" and apparently it is deisel. like he has a 405 BTN shoulder press on there and shit.

he trains like a bodybuilder... he does a bodypart split. he used to be a bb'er.

supposedly he's done 675x2 and 715x1(no pause) since then. If he can stay healthy he might have Mendy's raw record soon.... at 242. :)

Wow! This guy is a beast! If only my max day today went as smoothly. ;[

Would you guys consider some chest bounce as bad technique? I'm not talking rib crushing or anything. I try to abstain from it myself, but a lack of it causes me to drive the bar down too slowly causing me to waste a lot of energy.

He used to lift at the gym I go to here in Tally, and he is insane, every lift he did was unimaginable, I actually think 5'8" is pushin it i thought he was shorter but I havent seen him in a while so i could be wrong...

Who gives a flyin fuck!! He's not homo erotic body builder! That's like making a "Her eyes arent that pretty" on a 5'9'' small waist big titted broad! I'll cut my calves off to have a 675 raw bench

it looks like he could have gotten 680.
wonder how much he squats an deads. probably 700s -800s.
how much do u guys think john cena can bench??

Mudge
04-29-2008, 10:01 AM
I believe Cena claims not to bench at all, his routine looks pretty weird to me if its really not just some BS he had printed up as a joke.

Looks can be very deceiving, I know a guy with 20" arms who is leaner than I am and he just barely broke the 315 club. No joke, this is a guy I know personally.

I think hoornstra used to be a BBer?

There's a vid of cena benching 405 for a couple on youtube, but as he's on the road all the time and probably doesnt have time to eat or train much that would affect his workouts a lot.

Some large wrestlers actual and claimed lifts aren't very impressive but they could toss you around like a paper bag... same with strongmen and some aren't even benching 405. For all my strength I let my 100lb GF move heavy boxes and carry the shopping.. gym strength isnt always an indicator of 'real strength' (as gay and bb.comish as that sounds)

in an program on steroids and the WWE he claimed he has never used.
do u guys believe that?

yeah but those strongmen are deadlifting some big #s for reps. the worlds strongmen are doing 705 for reps. I guses it just goes to show benching is the least functional lift ou tof the classical lifts.

some don't do much flat pressing

this fella is the bioX supp distributor for my local supp store, and canadas strongest man contestant... I don't think he pulls 705 for reps but he is monsterously strong at events and 18" pulling.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wZTMDRsDvA

when someone's so big they make the 45's look like 25's.. you know they biiiig (no picture with him, strong ego crushing)

So can we call you mini-Ruhl? heh... he takes a smoke break while his lady loads all the groceries. I know a guy who benches in the mid 400s who works with some Tongan guys doing cabinetry, they carry more than he does on jobsites with greater ease yet a lot of them are 60 pounds less in bodyweight and not as strong (at least by bench).

Something we probably have all noticed, when you adapt to a movement you learn to optimize subconsciously and your lift goes up. When I stop doing a certain movement for awhile I likewise backtrack, i.e. I stopped doing bent over rows for awhile to switch to machine when I was having lower back issues, and my BOR has never been the same since :( STILL trying to get those old numbers back after almost 2 years now!

Does it matter? The real crime is that Congress is wasting millions of dollars on comittees to investigate WWE steroid use.

Mudge, mini ruhl.. without the smokes lol. That strongman is the same apparently, his fiancee grumbled to mine she has to do that stuff for him too :D
