Well, im starting a routine with IA tomorrow, and its been like almost a month since i first contacted him so im excited to finally start.
The past 3 weeks i havn't been able to do a real workout, that sucked. last week I got sick and suffered a minor injury.I blame Bruce Lee.
Tested my lifts though so:
Bench-280
Squat-365
Deadlift-405
Barbell row "5" rep max-195
My morning weight on saturday was 194. Up 4 pounds since my break so Im growing for sure. Bf went up a bit i think though.
Im feeling Wesley gave me the formula for success though.
A formula much better than setting myself at a 45 degree angle to the teacher while taking a test so the teacher can't see me cheating so I get good grades.

(3d) My triceps were giving out and I was having a lot of trouble getting the sets and reps i was supposed to get. Looks like the weights are gonna stay al ittle low for a while.

sleep'll make a huge difference, staying up to 2am watching Slim n lift infomercials doesnt help getting stronger :(

(1) Not enough sleep last night. I need to fix my sleeping routine, add in some sleep volume training or something.
(2) worked out at the highschool gym, instead of my normal gym,so everything felt weird. The benches are too small and narrow for my super wide muscle back.
:jk: but seriously they are very low and narrow.
(3a) 2 board press-hit 280x3. (<--PR) Missed my first set at 258, i had a hard time getting used to the bench.
(3b) The 2 board isn't much rom for me. I got a killer arch.
(4)Once again triceps giving out, need to lower weights.
(5)I might be doing the USAPL MA High School Open PL Championships in Brighton, Massachusetts on march 24. If so, i think wesley would have to adjust my routine after my max tests.
(6)explosive diahhrea, probably because of yesterday's cheat meal. I need to be spot on with my diet from now on.

(3)I didnt feel too good coming into the workout, for some reason my back, my ass, and my hamstrings were extremely sore from benching. My back has never gotten so sore after benching. My chest and triceps werent too sore though.
(4)Still not enough sleep
(5)Im not digesting my food, and have so much gas and bloating, but the earliest appointment i could get with a G.I. specialist was march 14. :molepoke: agh

My training journal is sort of boring, because i cant let out too much information. And theres not a lot of feedback either, so Ive decided to change my workout journal into
a food journal
but not just any food journal.
A food journal that will be used to help discover which foods are bloating me, giving me bad gas, and ruining my digestion.
So everyone will know how bad my gas is, when its happening, and maybe even other things
i think it will be a little more interesting

Okay the day isnt over yet but here goes.
6:20 AM-5 oz chicken breast, 1 cup oats
6:20-wake up farting a couple times, so im bloated from stuff i had yesterday
9:45- 3 oz steak (usually a protein shake but i forgot to bring it to class, so i just took some steak from my lunch, ugh...)
10:45- Diahrea starts, very wet and smelly and loud farting while im sitting on the toilet. Saw whole berries fully intact in my crap.
12:00-3 oz steak, 1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup peas
12:00 finished off the dump I cut short earlier
1:30-holding in farts, having to take a dump very bad
3:00-7 oz steak, 1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup peas
4:45-farting while crapping. Peas were visible in my crap
5:30-2 cups cottage cheese, 1/2 cup oats
6:00 pre workout- 3 scoops whey
6:35- once i start squatting, i fart a coupel times
8:00-pwo-2.5 scoops whey, 3/4 cup oats, 40 g dextrose
8:00-little bit of farting, more crapping, peas once again visible in my crap
wow all in all it was a disgusting day. very hard to decipher what is bloating me, and makign me fart, and take weird craps.

So i want everyhting to be on point, the onyl thing is IM outta a bunch of my supps, i gotta borrow some from my training partner........
then i just wanted to drink soem cherry wine UH HUH , cuz we could dance and party ALL NIGhT, NA NA NA NA NA NANA NA NA NA NA NANANA NA NA
i dont know how much milk you take in a day but a friend of mine is a weapon of massive destruction when he consume too much milk, sort of lactose intolerance.
and also, i dont know if you take creatine but too much creatine can transform your ass into an hot water taps (not a personal experience)

man sunday nigh ti all of a sudde n had a big stomach ache, but i just kept eating my food, cuz max testing was coming up and there was no way my diet was going to be off par, but the stomach ache woudl not go away, i was lying in my bed for hours, my stomach was like burning. at maybe liek 3 am i got up and puked half the food i ate that day, and it sucked, because i was trying so hard not to throw up my protein for the day, but after throwing up the pain did not go away. normally i throw up and im fine, but not this time. SO i m lyign in bed for maybe liek another 2 hours, but i cant sleep im in pain, so i just watch GGW commerical for a little while, and then i try to fall asleep again but its hard. I get up and i start drinking peptol bismol, and i finally fall asleep. But i wake up and i knwo i cant eat, so i drink soem milk, and fall asleep again. I woke up after a while and try to eat soem steak, becaus ei wanna get my diet back on track, but i just throw up. It looks liek brown tuna all over the bathroom. SO i go to the emergency room and Im waiting there for hours. I forgot to mention the diahrea ive been having all this time, and anyway, they put an IV in me, it sucked but i got to watch deal or no deal and heroes so it was cool. The doctors then tok me off the iv and said i got a stomach virus that was going around. SO i go home and go to bed, then it was tuesday. I was trying to get back on my diet 100% but i only managed to get maybe 200 grams of protein in, and the things i could eat was pretty limited. I went to bed fine that night. Now its wedsnesday, my stomach is like 80%, my appetite is down , but now my brother has the virus worse than me, and i fewel like i might catch it again. Im tired and still doing diahrea, but im holding my food down. Im not sure if i should do max testign this week as planned though,

i got this damn virus 3 weeks ago and it put me down for 2 days. Ive lost 8lbs mostly water, food and shit but you know how it fell when you see your weigth going down like this. I wasnt able to eat the first day that was bad.
ps. mine was like spaghetti and cottage cheese. All orange and white
pps. you cant get this virus from someone you contamined because you are now imune to it

Upper body workout
Just not a good day to be in the gym
I had to bench today, for a max heavy triple
I put 270 on, and the guy spotting my is holdign onto the bar helping me get 3.
SO after the set, I tell him NOT to do that, and i went into another set ay 270.
Im bringing the bar down and hes still holding the bar. I came up and i didnt know what to do. I wanted to rack the weight, but at the same time i wanted to keep going. I must have moved my arms back a little towards the rack, because i was makign a decision in the middle of the set. But he must have been pulling a little bit on the bar at that point. I put moved my arms back to where they should be for another rep, but since hes pulling, and I havnt got such a great grip on the bar
the bar just slides right out of my hands falls on my chest. That was the only moment the spotter didnt have his hands on the bar.
ugh that hurt, that coulda cracked my ribs if i was a stronger lifter.
Sucks that my normal training partner is being a total flake.
but ive still got a couple bench workouts left before my powerlifting meet, im looking forward to my next bench workout on saturday. I wanna kill it

Nother not too great day of training. I had deadlifts off a plate today.
top set was 380x3PR off a box but i expected more, it was supposed to be 5x5 but i was out of it and i think i overestimated my strength, because I cant just add 4 or 5 inches to my rom and expect to deadlift the weights i normally use.
It felt liek caca, but looking back, 380x3 off a 100lb plate is good, when a couple weeks ago i could only get 405x3 from the ground w/o shoes. THe main thing was my hands just couldnt hang on to the weight anymore. My callusses hurt
also glute ham raises are haaard.
Couple bad days turned into a preety much all out bad week, but uhh
im not too down about it.
been busy and getting in trouble and stuff

I feel like im getting my groove back on the bench.
I did my 8x3 on the bench at 225. Felt really nice.
I came into the workout kinda unmotivated and all of a sudden i felt this tight strange feelign in my bicep. But i pushed through and everythign turned out great.

Making weight for my meet is gonna be hard. Im gonna be pretty much right inbetween weight classes, and i guess in this federation i need to be spot on. I could do 198 weight class if it was like RIGHT when i wake up. But during the middle of the day, im more like 210. Which means im gonna be cramming down a lot of food and water before weighing in...
another day of eating oatmeal in the corner
for somereason I had an idea in my head that i could be inbetween weight classes and automatically be bumped up to the 220.
do any federations do this?

Maybe i just picked bad flavors. I mean i dont especially enjoy eating watermelons or wild berries. Why would i like to drink them in protein form?

trained bench, not too great of numbers. Im sorta retraining my bench, i cant get much arch or leg drive with my feet flat on the floor, instead on on my toes under me.
I got 265x1, then misgrooved
then 255x2
so at the meet, Ill be happy if I get 285. Its a pr and I'll just revert back to my normal way of benching after the meet and put up 300, just so I have that milestone under my belt.

Same as last week just harder with flat feet, still having trouble adjusting.
not to mention that bicep problem, which left my bench a little lopsided those last few sets. Hard to flex that bicep hard to hold the bar and let me hold it in the correct path.
I think maybe I need stronger biceps. So im gonna really put more effort into the 3 sets of curls I do a week.

3 min sled pulling
its so hard, it takes me a while to breath normally after pulling.
I got on the treadmill ready to do my third cardio session of the week, but i dunno, i just felt so tired that i got off and took a nap.
It was a weird day today, i was drenched in sweat and tired all day. I ended up drinking a lot of gatorade cuz i was so dehydrated, i dunno why i was sweating so much.
Plus did a lot of cheating on the diet. Not a lot but, today wasnt clean.

last night i dont think i slept much at all. I took my alarm clock out of my room cuz it stressed me out and the light was annoying. SO i dont know how long i slept, but i dont think i got any.
SO i didnt know whether or not it would be a good idea to train today.
I went anyway
Box Squat-395x3 PR First one was like a centimeter away from touching the box, second one i think i actually paused on the box accidently. Anyway it was pretty clean.
Anyway I only have 1 more squat workout left before the meet. The goal is just to make my opener look like a joke, so that i feel confident about my other lifts. I think this is a good strategy.
These are what I think I'll open up with for each of my lifts

Bench-240
Deadlift-405 (Cuz i feel like im gonna be tired and I wont be able to get up much after that first deadlift, hopefully ill just set a pr on my second attempt and that will be it)
POWERLIFTERS PLEASE give me some advice, is this an okay strategy, are these ok numbers for my first attempts.

No training today, holding off till tomorrow. Had to get blood drawn today, feeling alittle light headed, and had a bad nights sleep last night. Plus got a ton of work to do.

im just plain old walking, i dont like walking too much, cuz my feets hurts.
today is 3/21
it is 1 pm, and i had another adventure in the doctors office. I was in Boston all morning, they were all checking my blood pressure, it was normal. I have a microscopic amount of blood in my urine:vroam: whoah stop the presses. Ive had it for like over a year, since back when i was 170 pounds, november 05. And i dont know, whenever i get in the hospital they tell me im fine, and they just wanna check up on me.
Doctor always tells me he is very satisfied, but he always wants me to schedule another appointment every time i go there...
Today some asian lady rubbed this deodarant stick all over my body, (it was like an echo scan or something, to see if there is any strain on my heart),
not as interesting as last time, but much better time. Riding on the trains is cool.
well my plans for the rest of the day, are too get doen my last workout before my meet on saturday.
my morning bodyweight is 217 now. I finally get to start recomping after the meet.

Okay so friday i turn in a job application at this golf place, and right away i get the job.
SO today I had to go in there from 6:30am-12pm and work on picking up golf balls at the shooting range and cleaning up the place.

Max Test on the Bench
Hit 285 for a 5 pound pr since the end of january. Flew up
Then I grinded out 295, for a 15 pound pr. But that was a real grinder, i got stuck at the 1 board then i misgrooved, but still grinded it up, all triceps.
Went for 300, but it got stuck on my chest.
15 pound pr in about 2 months of trainign with wesley, i know im good for more than that though. :poke:

Was in the doctors office all morning doing stupid lactose intolerance test, and xrays of my stomach. Found nothing wrong and the doctorsa just told me to eat more fiber.
Which I havnt been having a lot lately, but basically this day felt wasted.
I gotta make up for all the meals i missed in the morning, and eat more tonight.

I came in wanting more but there was nothing left to give. With working that morning, and a long layoff from the weights after my last powerlifting meet, that was all i had in me.
But im happy with that, especially after that long unintentional fast yesterday and then not good nutrition that day. :thefinger: These numbers are gonna be going up.
the deadlifts are hard as hell after squatting though. It makes my sticking point from the ground that much tougher.

Im a little worried because I havent gotten my routine from wesley yet.
I have 6 weeks of training before my push/pull meet May 19
Max tests this week:

Dead-430
I liek the rules of the AAU much more than the USAPL so things are going to go better.
Im going to cut for 4 weeks
then bring the calories back up the 2 weeks leading up to the meet.
Then its back to cutting.
I have a ton of supplements and gear to buy. Hopefully i can get my own belt that fits my big bloated stomach and is approved for use in the meet. I need to order a singlet too, and while im at it maybe an elitefts shirt or something, because the captions next to the clothes on that site are hilarious.

Meet prep has now started for the push/pull May 19.
I was supposed to lift yesterday but i was dead, I dont know but after max tests on Saturday ive been a little lethargic. Too much laying around after the March 24th meet. I feel bad for bugging wesley abotu gettign my routine so that i coudl lift on monday when i didnt even bother lifting, or even goign to the gym to help my lifting partner out.

Hit 430 for 2 reps on the deadlift for a small PR.
The deadlift needs to go up, because my lifting partner is showing me up bigtime, he pulled 500 yesterday. :nopity:
I tried to capture the deads on video but the camera just sucks. If anyone has seen the videos from my last meet, then you know what i mean. The camera just turns off all on its own after 3 seconds of filming.
Its gonna take a while to save up enough to buy my own videocamera because the priorites right now are supplements and some lifting gear for the push/pull.

Its this narrow grip i take, with my pinkies on the rings. I stay tight and its awesome for a single. But today I would do two or three reps and then my wrists felt like breaking so I had to widen my grip out during the middle of the set.

If your rings are the same as mine, I used to grip that narrow. Then it slowly widened it more and more because it hurt too much. Now my pointer finger is on the rings, any wider than that and I lose uppe rback tightness.

Green mini doubled up ( I think thats what its called, i folded it in half then set it under a 130 lb dumbell and put two end loops on the bar.)
Bar weight-225x1 ( wanted three, i dont know how much tension these gave but it was kicking my ass. Second time using Bands)

chest supported rows on the hammerstrength machine. Worked up to 250lbsx6

4 or 5 hours taking a long ass test that Im not gonna do so great on. All my friends are taking SAT prep stuff except me. I hope that doesnt bite me in the ass. I dont want to take the SATs a million times to get one goood lucky score.

Ive been doign things pretty halfass, im usually 5 or 6 hundred calories above where I should be. Im slightly leaner, but i still havnt gotten my supplements in order, and i havnt been doing as much cardio as i should.
I gotta do things right, im 4 weeks out right now and stuff...

Basically I had a local powerlifter to help teach me to pull sumo, and i learned that.
-For me, its hard to keep my shoulders behind the bar while keeping the bar close to my hips.
-Im not flexible enough to take a real wide stance that would shorten my deadlift stroke.
I will try to experiment with a medium stance sumo thing after the push/pull but for now, the conventional untechnical brute strength lift is for me.

4 oz steak at a barbeque i went to
now it is 8pm and i am about to have half a whole grain bagel with peanutbutter on it. I also sipped some water. Protein was not important today, and it wont be tomorrow either. although it make sme sad and hungry.
At 3pm i put on a couple extra layers of clothing and got on the treadmill for 15 minutes. after that i put some trashbags on and just jung around the house.
people like my dont hang, we "jang" thatt is the present form of the verb jung.
at 7:30 i hopped on the scale, took off all my extra layers of clothing and weighed myself in my underwear, and was 220.
I got in the bathtub with some hot water, but i ran out of hot water so it ended up being just kinda warm water. It was supposed to be scalding hot almost to draw a little more water out, but i ended up gaining a pound or two of water. Which is also fine because im gonna have to go the whole night without food and that might mean more weight lost.
Basically there is no reason why i cant make the 220 lb weightclass and then quickly put the weight back on. Thats the EASY part

not nearly as bad as dropping 20 or more pounds for a 24 hour weigh in.
Which i might do at my next meet, and if all goes well, il be able to compete as a natural 198 pounder and a dehydrated/rehydrated 181
As long as i dont gain weight while dieting like i did the weeks before this meet.

weighed 220.5 at the weigh in, then started eating. Im gonna be eating all day.
The whole meet was in kilos so these are the weights i said to the meet directors, and then they just put on the closest weight in kilos. So these weights could be a little lower or a little higher. I dont remember the weights in kilos, and i dint write em down.

My judge gave me long pauses which sucked ass, she was a bad judge, and a bithcy old lady. But i love her anyway
missed second two attempts due to some bad advice, but it just wasnt a good day for bench in general, i was cramping in my hips.

WHooh! hopefully i dont gotta go into work tomorrow morning, today was fun, cant wait for my next meet.
As far as the journal, im all set with this. THis journal has all my training with wesley, but now im training with some other powerlifters and taking their advice and its awesome. So a new trainign cycle deserves a new thread. It may not be on this forum, but who knows.

guy had me do two warmup sets for the bench.

and then go right into it
hes a smart guy but man im not taking his advice again.

second meet mannnn havnt you been following my log?
well its different for every meet. But it went quick.
I was in the second flight and there were 3 flights. Basically i got some good time to warmup for my lifts and then i probably had like 10 minutes in between lifts i bet. But things went fast, basically when i was "in the hole" (basically 3rd) i started to put on my belt, and by the time i had it on my name was announced and i had to go to the bar.
I must have had about 45 minutes to an hour in betwwen my last bench and my first deadlift though.
But all meets are run different.
In my first meet i didnt have much time. I had to get right to warming up right after my final bench, and only had maybe 15 minutes, 20 at the most.

Nice work on the Deadlift PRs! Always great to set one, then immediately destroy it on your final attempt. Great feeling eh?
The whole "warm up" wasn't a warm up in my opinion. I don't know what he was talking about. I would have at least done 10 with the bar just to get the blood flowing before adding plates, but thats just me.
Just for your own edification your attempts most likely were:
Bench:
120 kg (264 lbs)
127.5 kg (281 lbs)
127.5 kg (281 lbs)
Deadlift:
195 kg (429.8 lbs)
202.5 kg (446 lbs)
210 kg (462 lbs)
Like I said, good work. You got a total up there for push pull. Now its time to relax a bit and focus on doing another push/pull or full power meet. Keep it up!

i think it was actually 215 kilos i remember that one.

i didnt choose the weight my friend did, so that i wouldnt know and then they announced the weight.
